Phrasal verb: ring out

To ring out is to produce a loud and clear sound.

If a sound rings out it is loud and easily audible.

 

Examples of use:

1.His voice rang out across the room.

2. The sound of gunshots rang out in the night.

3. News headline: Cathedral's newest bells ring out over Truro.

4. Words from a Christmas song: …and the bells are ringing out for Christmas time
