Phrasal Verb: own up

To own up to something is to admit or confess that you have done something wrong – usually something relatively unimportant.

Examples of use:

1. OK, own up. Who has eaten the last biscuit?

2. Simon owned up to breaking the window with the cricket ball.

3. Would the person who scribbled on the wall own up immediately, please?
