To brush up on something is to practise or study a skill or subject you learned in the past but have forgotten or partly forgotten.
Examples of use:
1. I'm going to Italy in October so I am brushing up on my Italian.
2. If you want to study a degree in accounting you must brush up on your maths first.
3. My grandmother is coming to stay for a week – I'd better brush up on my baking skills!
