Phrasal Verb: freshen up

To freshen up is to quickly wash yourself so that you feel cleaner, fresher and more comfortable

Examples of use:
1. There’s a hotel and restaurant about ten miles away. We can stop there, and freshen up and have a meal.

2. I’ve been digging the garden all day. I need to freshen up before dinner.

infinitive – freshen up

present simple – freshen up and freshens up

-ing form – freshening up

past simple – freshened up

past participle – freshened up
