Idiom: as proud as a peacock

Peacock and Peahen

To be as proud as a peacock means to be excessively proud – to have excessive pride in one’s appearance, or show an excessively high opinion of oneself.

Example of use:
Jim has been strutting around as proud as a peacock since he bought that flashy new sports car.
