Idiom: as bright as a button

To be as bright as a button means to be intelligent and lively.

This idiom is usually used with reference to children.


Examples of use:

1. My niece is interested in everything and always asking questions; she's as bright as a button.

2. Their new baby is as bright as a button!


In America people say as cute as a button.
